Tip pool calculator
Split a tip pool by hours, or by hours times role points. Print it for the shift.
| Name | Role | Hours | Points | Share | Remove |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Total | 0 | $0.00 | |||
How the split works
By hours: each person gets total tips × (their hours ÷ all hours).
By points: each role gets a point value, for example server 1.0, bartender 1.0, busser 0.5, host 0.4. Each person's weight is hours × points, and the pool is split by weight. Shares are rounded to the cent, and any leftover cents go to the largest share so the total always matches.
Check the law before you pool. Under federal law, managers and supervisors can not keep any part of employee tips, and many states add their own rules. This calculator does the math only. It is not legal advice.
